Review: Hana by Lauren Oliver

Hana by Lauren Oliver

The Book:
Hana is a short story between Delirium and Pandemonium. Where you instead of following Lena, you here everything from Hana´s point of view :)
As far as I know this book is only available as ebook and was released February 2012.

ISBN13: 9780062124364
64 pages

Read: May 2012
Language: English

Summary: (from Goodreads)
The summer before they're supposed to be cured of the ability to love, best friends Lena and Hana begin to drift apart. While Lena shies away from underground music and parties with boys, Hana jumps at her last chance to experience the forbidden. For her, the summer is full of wild music, dancing—and even her first kiss.

But on the surface, Hana must be a model of perfect behavior. She meets her approved match, Fred Hargrove, and glimpses the safe, comfortable life she’ll have with him once they marry. As the date for her cure draws ever closer, Hana desperately misses Lena, wonders how it feels to truly be in love, and is simultaneously terrified of rebelling and of falling into line.

In this digital story that will appeal to fans of Delirium and welcome new admirers to its world, readers will come to understand scenes from Delirium through Hana's perspective. Hana is a touching and revealing look at a life-changing and tumultuous summer.

My Opinion:
I really enjoyed this short ebook.
Therefor I gave it 4 out of 6 stars.

I liked hearing about Hana´s experience at the same time with Lena´s in Delirium.
Though I wish they would just have mixed it together in Delirium with different chapters instead.
Since it was a while since I read Delirium and therefor were a bit out of the story.
But all in all this is an enjoyable read :)

And because it´s only 64 pages long, it´s a fast read :)

Review: The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore

The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore

The Book:
The Power of Six is the second book in the Lorien Legacies written by Pittacus Lore.
The first book was called I am number 4, and was released in 2010.
I am number 4 has also been showed as a film and was in the cinemas, spring 2011.

There are also small stories related to this series. And book 3 is on it´s way. The Rise of Nine which is being released in August 2012.

394 pages

Read: May 2012
Language: Norwegian
Source: ARC from Norwegian publish firm Cappelen Damm

Summary: (from Goodreads)
I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us.

Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed us—if we all still believe in our mission. How can I know? There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another . . . but our Legacies are developing, and soon we'll be equipped to fight. Is John Number Four, and is his appearance the sign I've been waiting for? And what about Number Five and Six? Could one of them be the raven-haired girl with the stormy eyes from my dreams? The girl with powers that are beyond anything I could ever imagine? The girl who may be strong enough to bring the six of us together?

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They tried to catch Number Four in Ohio—and failed.

I am Number Seven. One of six still alive.

And I'm ready to fight.

The Story:
We continue to hear about John, Six and Sam which is still on the run. And is now one of the most wanted in the world, and is kind of running away from everyone.
At the same time they are just trying to save everyone and the whole world.

We also meet number 7, Marina. She is learning to deal with her new powers and trying to find out the truth about what is going on. All while she is looked up in a orphanage, with her Cepan, somewhere in Spain.

My Opinion:
I haven´t read the first book yet, but I have seen the movie. And you can still read it, even though you only watched the movie. But if you haven´t either read or watched the first, I would advise you to do so first, since this is a follow up on what happens in the first one.
And think it would be difficult to get the story, without knowing the first one.

But if you are into the story, this book is super awesome :) And a must read. ;)
This book continues with a lot of action and not to forget the romance and drama part.
We meet a lot of new peoples/aliens while we get caught up in new mysteries, while others are being solved.
This book gets 5 out of 6 stars

And I will out of doubt get to read the first one, one day. Because everyone is saying the book is better then the movie. Though I don´t know when I will get to it.
But first of all will I check out the 3rd book and the small novels in this series :)

And I really recommend I am number 4, the movie. Which is one of my favorite movies :)
So I became so happy when I got the opportunity to read this book :)

Jamie Magee has already released 3 books in her series Insight. And more to come :) While in this new series, she is expecting to release book 2 in the summer. And sounds like she has a lot planned :) And I am so excited to read more of both series :D

This book is being released 5th May
323 pages

Read: April 2012
Language: English

Summary:
Forgetting who you are, your ambitions, your love is crippling….but remembering – embracing your purpose with a new sense of determination is more than empowering….its life altering. Charlie Myers is on a life altering path that will cause the dammed to humble in silence…
One night…just a few friends how could it go so wrong? That was the question seventeen year old Charlie Myers was asking when she found herself in the ER. Outwardly nothing was wrong with Charlie, she was a vision of perfect heath, internally she was battling a raging headache…one the doctor told her she would overcome shortly, but Charlie knew something else was wrong …very wrong.
Part of her had been stolen….she was missing memories. Those memories were sacred. They held the key to her sanity. They told her that the sinister whispers, the shadows that came to life before her were not as ominous as she felt they were. They held the bond with her late father, a famed musician. They caused her to forget the one talent that allowed her to face the darkness that haunted her every waking hour. They also masked a much deeper bond, the face of the one that had stolen her heart, long before the age of seventeen.
Sitting in the ER with her angry mother she couldn’t figure out what she missing – or even how. Her thoughts told her that she needed to protect Britain, a friend of hers, but that didn’t make any sense – Britain didn’t need to be protected from anyone, he was strong, young, and absurdly wealthy. Charlie also knew that even though her friend Bianca called Charlie her best friend that she didn’t trust her ….she was almost sure she despised her, but she couldn’t figure out why – or understand how random thoughts were telling her that she adored both Britain and Bianca – that they were her saviors – that they brought silence to the unstoppable whispers….but the silence scared Charlie. In her mind anyone or anything that could bring silence to something that dark could not be good.
Charlie wanted to stay in NY, figure out what she was missing, why, and who was behind it all, but her mother had other plans. Against her will, Charlie was sent to Salem to live with her sister….within that small town Charlie found her memories….and so much more.
Her story begins now.

The Story:
We meet Charlie who have problems remembering stuff in her life. She has forgotten something, but what. Only thing she remember is that she needed to protect someone. But who and from what, she need to figure out.
She´s being sent back home by her mother, to relax and find herself.  Mysteries slowly starts to resolve and the truth is being revealed. She is not insane.

My Opinion:
I absolutely loved this book, just as much as Jamie Magee´s other books :D I love her writing.
Very harmonic and magic style :)
This book is full of mystery, drama and romance. With a dash of supernatural.
And as most books there are a cute guy you fall in love with :P If not one, there might be two xD
I don´t want to reveal anything. Other then if you loved Insight series you should check out this series, you will most definitly like it. And if you haven´t read Insight. You should check out both series ;)
This book got a 5 out of 6 stars

Because of it harmonic, magic style and you are never bored :)
