Review: Hana by Lauren Oliver

Hana by Lauren Oliver

The Book:
Hana is a short story between Delirium and Pandemonium. Where you instead of following Lena, you here everything from Hana´s point of view :)
As far as I know this book is only available as ebook and was released February 2012.

ISBN13: 9780062124364
64 pages

Read: May 2012
Language: English

Summary: (from Goodreads)
The summer before they're supposed to be cured of the ability to love, best friends Lena and Hana begin to drift apart. While Lena shies away from underground music and parties with boys, Hana jumps at her last chance to experience the forbidden. For her, the summer is full of wild music, dancing—and even her first kiss.

But on the surface, Hana must be a model of perfect behavior. She meets her approved match, Fred Hargrove, and glimpses the safe, comfortable life she’ll have with him once they marry. As the date for her cure draws ever closer, Hana desperately misses Lena, wonders how it feels to truly be in love, and is simultaneously terrified of rebelling and of falling into line.

In this digital story that will appeal to fans of Delirium and welcome new admirers to its world, readers will come to understand scenes from Delirium through Hana's perspective. Hana is a touching and revealing look at a life-changing and tumultuous summer.

My Opinion:
I really enjoyed this short ebook.
Therefor I gave it 4 out of 6 stars.

I liked hearing about Hana´s experience at the same time with Lena´s in Delirium.
Though I wish they would just have mixed it together in Delirium with different chapters instead.
Since it was a while since I read Delirium and therefor were a bit out of the story.
But all in all this is an enjoyable read :)

And because it´s only 64 pages long, it´s a fast read :)

Review: The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore

The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore

The Book:
The Power of Six is the second book in the Lorien Legacies written by Pittacus Lore.
The first book was called I am number 4, and was released in 2010.
I am number 4 has also been showed as a film and was in the cinemas, spring 2011.

There are also small stories related to this series. And book 3 is on it´s way. The Rise of Nine which is being released in August 2012.

394 pages

Read: May 2012
Language: Norwegian
Source: ARC from Norwegian publish firm Cappelen Damm

Summary: (from Goodreads)
I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us.

Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed us—if we all still believe in our mission. How can I know? There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another . . . but our Legacies are developing, and soon we'll be equipped to fight. Is John Number Four, and is his appearance the sign I've been waiting for? And what about Number Five and Six? Could one of them be the raven-haired girl with the stormy eyes from my dreams? The girl with powers that are beyond anything I could ever imagine? The girl who may be strong enough to bring the six of us together?

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They tried to catch Number Four in Ohio—and failed.

I am Number Seven. One of six still alive.

And I'm ready to fight.

The Story:
We continue to hear about John, Six and Sam which is still on the run. And is now one of the most wanted in the world, and is kind of running away from everyone.
At the same time they are just trying to save everyone and the whole world.

We also meet number 7, Marina. She is learning to deal with her new powers and trying to find out the truth about what is going on. All while she is looked up in a orphanage, with her Cepan, somewhere in Spain.

My Opinion:
I haven´t read the first book yet, but I have seen the movie. And you can still read it, even though you only watched the movie. But if you haven´t either read or watched the first, I would advise you to do so first, since this is a follow up on what happens in the first one.
And think it would be difficult to get the story, without knowing the first one.

But if you are into the story, this book is super awesome :) And a must read. ;)
This book continues with a lot of action and not to forget the romance and drama part.
We meet a lot of new peoples/aliens while we get caught up in new mysteries, while others are being solved.
This book gets 5 out of 6 stars

And I will out of doubt get to read the first one, one day. Because everyone is saying the book is better then the movie. Though I don´t know when I will get to it.
But first of all will I check out the 3rd book and the small novels in this series :)

And I really recommend I am number 4, the movie. Which is one of my favorite movies :)
So I became so happy when I got the opportunity to read this book :)

I am back from Africa :D

Hey Guys..
I am back :) after 1 month in Africa. Wow.. time went to fast, felt like I was only away for 1 week.
But anyway I am back and need to get back to old life. Which is not so easy.
I will be back in the blogosphere soon. But have to take baby steps.
Because right now, just 5 min and I am tired of being online xD But don´t worry.
I´ll be back 100% before you even notice :P I think xD

Anyway my time in Africa was awesome. And I can´t wait to travel again. Wanna go back next year. :)

Some of the stuff you´ll see on the blog soon
- IMM:  Africa edition
- IMM: in general (from before and after the trip)
- What I have been reading in May
- What I will be reading this Summer

And ofcourse loads of new book reviews. And book tips ;)

And now to get into a little Africa mood. Some pictures from my trip :D

While I were in Africa, I:
- Captured buffaloes
- Petted grown up lions, since we putted collars on them (so they were unconscious)
- Petted elephants, meerkat, snakes, lion cups, cheetah etc..
- Zip-lined over waterfall
- been on horseback riding in the national park
- been on several game drives (safari trips) and seen a lot of amazing animals
- got to know loads of amazing people and learn about their life and culture :)

I can really recommend to travel as a volunteer :) You get so many new experiences.
And I will out of doubt do it again :P
