Review: My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent

My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent

About the Book:
This is the first book in the Soul Screamers series, written by Rachel Vincent.
The Soul Screamers are in a total of 6 books. This one the first one was published in 2009, while the last one is expected in 2012. :)
The same author is known by her series The Shifters, which is one of my favorite series. Though the Shifters are more for adults, while The Soulscreamers are suitable for teens in the age about 13-16 years.

ISBN13: 9780373210039
279 pages

Read: October 2011
Language: English

Summary: (from Goodreads)
She doesn't see dead people. She senses when someone near her is about to die.
And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.

Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next

The Story:
You follow Kaylee a young woman who start noticing weird happenings with herself. She can sense just when a person is about to die. What is wrong with her?
Soon she finds out about a family secret. But not from the family, from a mysterious guy at school, she soon falls in love with. Can she even trust her family? And what kind of a world is this??

My Opinion:
I enjoyed this book very much. Laughed a lot, or correctly made humming sounds through it xD It´s written with fun commenting through the whole book.  And there are some romance involved. And I hint a bit of a thriangle drama, but not much happend in the first book. I also felt that everything was going a bit slow and it lacked some drama. But for a first book in a series I guess it´s okay, since you gotta get known with everything.
There for I gave it 4,5 out of 6 stars.

Since I love Rachel Vincent writting. Though it had it´s missing I think and have hope that the rest of the series is better :) Crossing my fingers for more action, drama, romance and hopefully more Tod :P
Looking forward to read the sequel. Interesting to see where this is heading...

  1. Though I haven't read the series yet. I love the covers and the summary, its a little different with the whole she knows when someone around her is about to die. Thats saddening! Anyways, the books sounds good but having it be a little dragging is a little discouraging! But I'll still give it a try! Thanks for the review!
